Greenhill Photography - Terms & Conditions
1. Copyright
a) The Copyright Designs and Patents Acts assign the copyright of the images to the photographer (Mike Greenhill). The Photographer (Mike Greenhill) assigns full usage and print rights to The Client for personal use (subject to condition 2). The Client may reproduce, copy, and distribute the photographs.
b) Suppliers from the day may use images for their portfolio. The image must be credited to Greenhill Photography, and they must email Mike Greenhill to arrange usage rights for the images they wish to use, to comply with GDPR – hello@greenhill-photography.com.
2. Display
The client(s) hereby allow(s) the photographer – Mike Greenhill to display any photograph covered by this contract and to generally promote the business in advertising, brochures, magazine articles, social media, websites, blogs, sample albums and prints, venue and other vendor samples, provided the images are used lawfully and without damage to the client(s).
3. Licenses, Coverage and Reproduction
a) Photographs taken during the event will be at the discretion of the photographer(s), although every effort will be made to comply with the Client(s) requirements.
b) The photographer shall endeavour to photograph all individuals as requested by the client(s) at some point, but no responsibility will be taken by the photographer on the occasion of leaving somebody out.
c) For bookings involving church ceremonies or certain venues, the photographer(s) movements may be restricted by the official in charge. The photographer cannot accept responsibility for any obstructed views or restrictions on lighting or coverage. Clients are advised to check restrictions before booking.
d)I reserve the right not to photograph any part of the wedding where lasers, particularly from DJs, bands or other entertainment, are in use. This is due to the risk of permanent damage to camera equipment and the possibility of corrupted or unusable images. In such circumstances, I will make every effort to continue coverage when and where it is safe to do so, but I cannot be held responsible for missed images during periods when lasers are active.
e) While every effort is made to capture all key moments, some may be missed due to the fluid nature of events.
f) Changes to booking details once confirmed may only be made at the discretion of the photographer, and conflicts may result in inability to accommodate changes. No compensation will be given under such circumstances.
g) Colour reproduction may vary due to lighting and digital sensor limitations.
h) Prints made at different times or sizes may have slight colour variations.
i) Images may appear differently on various monitors compared to prints.
j) Print and presentation sizes are approximate and at the discretion of the photographer.
k) Equipment is regularly checked, but the photographer is not liable for images lost due to technical failure.
l) The Photographer shall be the sole professional stills photographer on the wedding day. The Photographer reserves the right to ask guests to refrain from taking photos if they interfere with official photography.
m) Images are not to be edited or altered by anyone other than Mike Greenhill without prior agreement.
4. Prices
a) All services and optional extras specified in this contract must be paid in full before the wedding unless agreed otherwise. Optional extras ordered later will be charged at current rates.
b) The client(s) will be liable for additional expenses not included in the contract price (e.g., venue fees, overseas dispatch, additional travel).
5. Payments
a) A non-refundable retainer secures your booking and must be paid within 10 working days. The retainer forms part of the total package cost and is deducted from the final balance. Payment for the final balance is due no later than 14 days before the wedding date.
b) Additional goods must be paid in full on ordering.
c) Ownership of goods remains with Greenhill Photography until full payment is received.
6. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation less than 8 weeks before the wedding: no refunds for monies paid.
Cancellation more than 8 weeks before the wedding: 50% refund of monies paid excluding the non-refundable deposit.
If Mike Greenhill is ill or unable to attend, he will endeavour to provide a suitable replacement photographer. If no replacement is found, a full refund of all monies paid, including the deposit, will be issued.
7. Rescheduling
If the Client wishes to reschedule, deposits and monies paid may be transferred to the new date if Mike Greenhill is available. If not available, the cancellation policy applies. Rescheduling requests must be made in writing.
8. Complaints
Any complaints must be received in writing within seven days of receipt of products or services.
9. Force Majeure
The contract may be altered or cancelled by the photographer due to causes beyond reasonable control (e.g., illness, accidents, natural disasters). Efforts will be made to provide a replacement photographer if necessary.
10. Online Photo Albums
The full set of photographs will be available online no later than 40 days after the event.
11. Image Delivery
While every effort will be made to deliver images on time, no compensation or refunds are offered for delays beyond the photographer’s control.
12. Meals and Refreshments
For full-day bookings or packages extending over meal times, the Client agrees to provide a meal for the photographer (and assistants if applicable) to ensure continuous coverage.
13. Privacy
Client data is stored securely and not shared with third parties. Requests for data removal must be made in writing.
14. Governing Law
This contract is governed by English law and subject to the jurisdiction of English courts.
