Wedding Photography at Syrencot – Lucy & Kevin’s British-Chinese Celebration

Syrencot is one of those places that feels tucked away from the world. It’s surrounded by countryside, filled with character, and has everything you need for a relaxed, elegant wedding all in one place. I was lucky enough to photograph Lucy and Kevin’s day there, and it was one of those weddings that really stayed with me.

The day started with a bit of classic British tradition. Lucy got ready in the beautiful Billiard Room while Kevin greeted guests arriving at the Glasshouse for their ceremony. The space is full of natural light and greenery, which made it perfect for those real, honest moments to shine through. After the vows, everyone spilled out into the garden for drinks, confetti, and hugs all round.

Then came something a little different, and very special. In honour of Kevin’s family, they held a traditional Chinese tea ceremony inside the house. It was heartfelt, full of emotion and a real moment of connection across generations. Photographing it was such a privilege – a beautiful mix of heritage, love and respect that added so much depth to the day.

As the sun began to dip, we explored the walled garden for some golden hour portraits, before heading into the Farmshed for dinner and speeches. The whole day felt joyful and effortless, with little touches from both their backgrounds woven throughout.

Syrencot is such a great venue for this kind of wedding. It’s got a calm, elegant feel but still gives you space to make the day truly your own. Lucy and Kevin did exactly that, and it was a joy to capture.
