Chelsea and Stephen

Chelsea and Stephen’s winter wedding at The Pear Tree, Purton was filled with warmth, joy, and elegant seasonal touches. Set in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, their December celebration made the most of this stunning venue’s character, from the cosy indoor spaces to the beautiful gardens and vineyard views. From morning preparations to confetti moments and relaxed evening laughter, this was a Pear Tree wedding built on connection, comfort and genuine emotion.

The day began with bridal prep in The Pear Tree’s light and spacious suites, where soft winter light and calm excitement set the tone for the hours ahead. While the girls enjoyed prosecco and hair and makeup at a steady pace, guests started to arrive downstairs, wrapped in scarves and smiles, ready to witness a ceremony that felt intimate and personal.

Their ceremony took place in a setting made for winter weddings, with warm lighting, seasonal décor and a focus on people instead of spectacle. Chelsea walked in to an emotional silence before the vows landed with that mix of nerves and happiness that makes winter weddings feel even more atmospheric. The sound of applause and laughter filled the room as the newly married couple shared their first walk back up the aisle with faces that said everything.

Afterwards there was time for relaxed drinks inside, sheltering from the December temperatures while still enjoying views across the vineyard and landscaped grounds. As the light dropped early, we made the most of the gardens for a short couple session that embraced the blue hour sky and the stillness you only get in winter.

The rest of the day felt like a calm but happy gathering rather than a rushed schedule. Speeches were heartfelt and funny without being formal for formality’s sake. Guests settled in with great food and good wine. The evening shifted effortlessly into relaxed conversation, sparklers in the courtyard and a packed dance floor that stayed full until late. Chelsea and Stephen created a day that felt rich in feeling without ever feeling forced, which is exactly what The Pear Tree is built for in the winter months.
